Yuriy Yakushko Featured in TechBullion: Building Finexer’s Open Banking Infrastructure

In his TechBullion interview, Yuriy Yakushko reflects on the problem that inspired Finexer’s founding in 2018: unreliable bank data feeds and merchants absorbing chargebacks as an unavoidable cost of card payments. Both issues traced back to the same underlying cause: the absence of a direct, reliable connection to the bank.

Yakushko built Finexer’s entire platform independently during Open Banking’s earliest and most uncertain years, architecting it to meet FCA standards before the company had assembled a team or secured a single client. That early conviction has since evolved into infrastructure processing close to 200 million API requests and supporting over 100,000 connected bank accounts across the majority of UK banks. In a new interview with TechBullion, he discusses that trajectory and the direction Finexer is taking next.

Yuriy Yakushko, Founder and CTO of Finexer, said: “We have grown alongside that shift, building infrastructure that now connects businesses to most UK banks, processed nearly 200 million API requests, and supports more than 100,000 connected bank accounts.”
