That experience revealed the structural inefficiencies underpinning card payments: recurring compliance obligations, chargeback exposure, and intermediaries extracting fees before funds reach the merchant.
In 2018, Yakushko identified a shared root cause behind two separate industry problems, unreliable third-party bank data and merchants absorbing chargebacks as an unavoidable cost, and resolved to address both through a single, direct connection to the bank. In his BestStartup UK interview, Yakushko shares the thinking behind Finexer’s founding and the vision that continues to shape the company today.
